Kinja'd!!! Kinja'd!!!

I sent a quick email to the email address on the local dealer’s website to see if the order banks were open yet for the MY17 FiST’s.....I feel like I am taking crazy pills

Well after emailing him back telling him that wasn’t true I did get this response:

BS. They’re just trying to clear out 2016 stock.

Yeah that’s what I figured as they have 2 16's that are on a dealership order. With us being in the internet age and information so readily available it shocks me to get flat out lied like that.

Personally I want to wait for the 17's since they come with sync3 and CarPlay and I may want to go to the Octane Academy.

Forward that shit to Ford Marketing. I’m sure they’d be interested to hear about it.

Ye’, that’s tosh.

No way would Ford stop such a good cash cow especially as they’ve ST-Line’d the Mondeo/Fusion and Kuga over the pond here.

The Titanium has been a trim level since Ford introduced their current line of cars, it’s nothing new.

According to google 2017 is the first year of a new generation of Fiestas. It is possible that the ST version is going to be a couple years behind the base models. The current generation launched in the US as a 2011 model year and we didn’t get a ST until the 2013 model year.

And shortly after, you’re on their email list, spamming you with “we’re out of used cars and need your car NOW” emails.

A dealer did that to me when I emailed them about PARTS.

Wow. That’s just low. I’d forward that to Ford and go to another dealer.

The new generation of Fiesta is not due until 2018. The 2017 is pretty much the same car but a different shade of orange, it gets sync3 with CarPlay or Android Auto, and a free day at the Octane Acdemey

That dealer just totally lost a sale.

If I felt like having a bit of fun, I’d send them a link to Ford’s web site, which very clearly lists a 2017 FiST available. Then I’d tell them they just totally lost the sale.

Dealers are really weird about that. Around 2010 my dad briefly owned a 1995 Impreza for a few months. The car never saw a dealership while he owned it. In 2014 we got a postcard from a local Subaru dealership (which my dad had been to once with is 2005 LGT Wagon and had a bad experince so he never went back) offering us a free car wash to celebrate its 20th birthday. The only thing that I could think of that would have caused them to send that postcard was because they were the original sellers of the car in 1994. Though why they found us and not the guy we sold it to is beyond me.

Interesting. The main Ford site only allows you to view and configure 2016 Fiestas. Maybe try contacting some other dealers? Anyway they are unveiling a new Fiesta on Nov. 29.

I did the chat with a representative box that pops up and they will be updating the website the first week of December and the first cars should start arriving to dealerships at the end of the Month.

Based on that it could very well be that the 2017 FiST is not in the dealers computer system yet. They could have looked at the system and only seen the non-ST models for 2017.

I read somewhere, for some MOTs the data they have on cars and addresses are actually public domain info.

I haven’t heard anything from the Quebec dealer for my car yet, though I was actually looking for them to get my service records and they are actively ignorning me.

Registrations are all public info, that’s part of how CarFax works. I just find it really strange that they found out that we had owned the car but not that we had sold it years before.

Possible, I read this on the forums so take it with the grain of salt:

“On airfleet.com , this is the info we find :
Model : Ford Fiesta
2016 Fleet Final Order Due Date : 02-09-2016
2016 Final Production Date : 25-11-2016
2017 Order Bank Open Date : 19-09-2016
2017 Production Startup : 28-11-2016"

My biggest point of contention is being told blatantly false information. I would have much rather had a response like: you know I am not sure but we have a 16 on order now that I can make a deal on.

Your average dealer employee doesn’t know much beyond what the computer system can tell him. It’s possible he only saw base 2017 Fiestas and no STs and assumed there was no 2017 ST.

Yeah I guess if I were to give him the benefit of the doubt, but it’s a poor excuse. Especially coming from the “Internet Sales Manager”
