I used to think that dumb dogs were just dumb, then I realized that being dumb is actually a finely honed evolutionary advantage. How can you look at that and not want to give her a hug and a dog treat that’s made of better quality ingredients than any people food in your fridge?

My wife and I live almost like broke college kids but the dogs eat Rachael Ray kibble and we make their wet food:

Chicken thighs and livers - shredded, flax meal, coconut oil, and white rice. Boil it all together and add frozen peas and carrots. About $10 in ingredients makes more than 2 weeks worth of food and it freezes well.
