I hear you. I’ve watched Top Gear, and while it was reasonably entertaining, I simply don’t get the Beatles-esque fanboying going on here. It’s a decent car show. No more, no less.

Agree 100%. Clarkson has the most hacked jokes/commentary I’ve ever heard. I assume his continued success and status is because car people are usually insulated from other forms of popular culture so this is their limited exposure to comedy and commentary. I mean seriously, you can see every joke coming a mile away and they are sooooooooooo lame.

I watch it for the cars. Really. Same reason why I watch Jay Leno’s Garage, Harry’s Garage, /Drive, etc. I don’t have to like the hosts, but it helps if they’re somewhat entertaining.

There’s a lot of car videos I DON’T watch because the hosts annoy me for whatever reason.

Their formula was old and boring and stale, the last few seasons of theirs was terribly dull to watch. And Clarkson just being an ass for the sake of being an ass is not funny. I’ll probably check the show out at some point out of curiousity but I am FAR more excited/interested in seeing what season 2 of the re-booted TG with Joey, er Matt LeBlanc brings. Totally love him as a host. Hope he does more motorcycle stuff.

and reliable i can go anywhere and find the same hamburger and i always enjoy top gear there isn’t episodes where i felt like i wasted my time or something. of course this example isnt very good because any hamburger i make at home is better than mcdonalds but I cant mix cat hair and a jeeves and wooster book in a witches brew and make a james may.
