"Kanaric" (Kanaric1)

Meanwhile if the people who were running Ford were running nissan this drivetrain would be in the VERSA. Not a car that is practically a mid size. This thing is like 15 years behind the curve with the power they are giving it. AT LEAST 15 years. This “reveal” explains the state of the Japanese auto industry, especially the state of Nissan, metaphorically.
188hp in a car the size of the upcoming Civic Type R is a “Nismo”. ::vomits::

You are a Honda fan. I am a Nissan fan. I’ve been sour since 2003.
Honda is heading in the right direction. Nissan is heading to the shitter.

I’m more of a Toyota fan than a Honda fan btw.

A Versa SE-R with this drivetrain and a re-tuned chassis/suspension, to compete with the FiST, would be awesome.
This car, like every 90s and newer “performance” Sentra except the B13 and B15 SE-Rs, looks like it’ll be a disappointment.

Toyota is only doing marginally better than the Nissan because they at least delivered the FRS. However they got rid of the sporty engines and basically no XRS Corollas or Celicas anymore.
As of right now they are in the same state as Nissan except offer a more true sports car than the 370Z is. Not pleased with them either. However they APPEAR to be prototyping cars to fix that. Nissan meanwhile ditches the IDX and gives us this.

I would argue the so-called Civic Hatchback (which is in reality the sedan with a growth on its ass) and the entirety of Acura isn’t quite the “right direction”.

True, but it’s a better direction than this.
The new civic is basically what would used to be a midsize, like the accord. The Fit is basically what the civic was and there is no performance trim for that like Ford has for the Fiesta ST. However the Civic at least is attempting to become the GTi/SI type car.
May not be the perfect direction or the right direction to purists butit’s better than a 188hp 3000lb car getting the equivalent of a Type-R badge lol.

I honestly have no clue who would buy this when you can get a Focus ST or GTI.
I can’t imagine this beating a Civic SI on many peoples comparative shopping.

The Senta, and I’d say pretty much Nissan’s entire line as a whole, hasn’t been much to write home about since the early-mid ‘00s, and even then it wasn’t like it was mind-blowingly awesome.

At least it’s better looking than the civic...but not by much and that is a heck of a low starting point:)

The new civic is weird looking akin to the Juke to me.

the TLX begs to differ...
its a great and underrated car in SH-AWD form...
The ILX needs something like SH-AWD and maybe a 240 to 260 hp engine...
