"Grindintosecond" (Grindintosecond)

Brian Johnson, AC/DC front man, (definitely NOT pictured here) forgot to put in earplugs during one of his races he does on the side and promptly punctured an eardrum. Had he continued his 2016 tour he would have permanent hearing loss. So for the remaining ten shows, they recruited someone with similar vocals. Axl Rose.
So if you forget your earplugs on race day, or on any day that’s a very loud day, and you need your hearing for your job, you should be very careful because somewhere, a spanx wearing Axl Rose will front one of your favorite bands as your punishment.
Now, honestly, I’m surprised his voice is still able to hit the highs like he did and he sounded relatively good for the music. However, In this video, the whole thing looks kinda like my old college roommate’s 1968 Chevelle Malibu; orange primer and glasspacks and a few dents. Sounded and drove pretty good but looked like an old mess.

That is the most staged looking “normal clothes” I have ever seen.

It’s the tights under the jeans, isn’t it?

My fear for these shows was that Axl would be Axl and go on late and piss everyone off like he used to back in the 90s.
Haven’t read anything about this behavior, so I’m assuming they went well?

There’s something ironic about Axl Rose wearing ripped jeans and flannel.

I saw Axl/DC on what I think was his debut show in Greensboro, NC. He was shockingly punctual and pretty much rolled through the set list with a nearly robotic sequentiality. Sounded pretty good overall, though it was obvious he was a stand in. I’ve seen the band three times total now.
One weird thing, I’ve never seen a human sweat as much as Axl did that night. And his solution was to continue putting on more clothes.

I got to see them right before Brian stopped, for free in the radio giveaway seats won by wife’s BIL. Good show.

I hadn’t even noticed that but you’re right! For me it was the waist tied jacket under the shirt.

The real version of this story is the band had had enough of Johnson’s shit and fired him at the first opportunity. The dude ain’t coming back.

There’s something off putting about the lead singer of Guns and Roses dressing like a Nirvana fan in the 90s

I didn’t see any of the Axl/DC shows this year, but I followed them intensely and caught Guns N Roses in Boston and the dude has his act together for sure. On his best behavior, sounding better than he has in years, shed some weight, and finally looks happy again. 2016 was Axls year to shine and he did not disappoint.

I was told his contract had something to the effect that he got 10% up front, and 90% after successfully completing each show. If that rumor is true, then he has a strong financial incentive to be professional and show up the way he’s expected to.
