Step 1. Add in the stock resonator

Step 2. Marvel at just how different this one piece of equipment made it sound.

Yeah pretty much the straight-piped buzz was driving my crazy because it was dumping right outside the door and making my left ear go mad.

Didn’t expect it change as much as it did though, it sounds almost civilized now. Doesn’t backfire as much on decel now though, but those were a bit “extreme” anyway.

If I were modding an exhaust with resonator, I would swap out the muffler but leave the resonator. The muffler would be doing the bulk of the sounds deadening so wouldn’t the resonator be there to eliminate/convert certain sound waves?

Then again I don’t actually know this and am just basing it off educated presumptions...

To my knowledge. It would dampen the sound level, but it would sound like shit. The resonator takes care of the high freqs that cause droning. Here’s a clip of a car with no resonator, but with a muffler.

It makes my ears want to bleed :(
