The wheel/hub bearing noise I thought I heard is NOT the Autozone bearing I had put in before I bought the car on the left, nor is it the one on the right that is of questionable age.
Its the intermediate shaft bearing. And while some are replaceable through OEM only parts, this one appears to NOT be. $200 for a new shaft.
Or I can rip it apart, see what kind of bearing is in it, and try to order one based off the stamping number or size.

If the bearing is busted you don’t have much to loose if you try to tear it apart.

Just downtime. Though I do have a selection of cars at work I could probably borrow if need be.
There’s a local yard with one for $30 I might just buy and swap it in if its good, then rip my old one apart to see if its rebuildable.

We have a place in town that reconditions drive axles. They can recon yours or you can swap for a part in stock. I would check local listings.
