That is the most late 90s/early 2000s computer case I have ever seen. Just looking at it makes me want to play Midtown Madness 2.

Mostly fix them up, clean them, and sell them for around $120-250
and 100 more

Nibby:
-writes long post about how he’s no longer collecting retro PCs.
-gets another retro PC.

Unfortunately the processor is too slow for Midtown Madness 2

tons of PCs in the 90s were designed like this

That’s reasonable, I don’t care about old computers that much at all so I don’t really see the point in wanting one, but to each their own.

Yeah, I’ve seen a couple, but mostly missed that phase. At my house we went from an old AT-platform 486 (overclocked) straight to an ATX format 333 K6-2 (with 3dNOW!). Nothing mutant in between.

Definitely still got the K6-2. Not sure about the 486.The 486 started out as a 286 and got upgraded. At one point there was (briefly) an all-in-one Compaq 386.

I’ve not really paid attention to what the main house computer at my folks’ is for a few years. My own station for the longest time was a basic Compaq tower with upgraded RAM and video card, but I’m building a Core i7 machine with an mATX board in a baby case to put a Quadro in - because I’m saving up for a license of Solidworks.

no, that was actually somewhat of a “Standard,” it was the NLX motherboard layout.
