>1966 VW Bug, partially restored, lots of work done, includes many new parts and most of the original parts. Is a complete car! 2nd owner car has always been in our family. 1300 Motor re & re D, new: tires, gas tank, running boards, head lights, tail lights and the list goes on! Some welding done in body shop. 21,000 original miles. Have original bill of sale! This is a great project to finish!
I would need a trailer, or maybe just a towbar.

Looks very nice! The paint is a bit flat, but if everything is there, you could finish up any body / mechanical issues, shove it all back together and have a very fun classic to drive as-is! :)

nice price......... i have seen mid 70s bugs down here ASKING $7k+........ pretty, but overpriced.
the one you have there is a fairly good deal........
just make sure you check for rust in the usual places, and check that it hasnt been wadded up in the past.......

Yep, I’ll be requesting some better pics for sure, front apron, heater channels and fender wells to start.

I’m torn; as a detail ocd kind of guy I’d love to have a shiny/gloss finish to polish and keep immaculate, but as a aircooled enthusiast I love the touch of patina on a 50 year old single stage paint job.

oh, and check the fuel lines next to the carb....... AND the wires that enter the engine bay. seen LOTS of bugs that have been on fire from those......... those fuses in bugs are scary too.........

Yep, I’d be wiring the carb if I did’t get it replaced with an updated threaded inlet. Filter moved under the car as well..
I drove our westy with an eye on the airvents the entire time.. I had the extinguisher drill down pat.

Ohhh, way up there, eh? I have a 3500lb capacity and a tow bar on the Slamther, but I’m not sure if you’d want to tow a bug 5 hours on a dolly hitched to a slammed car.

No thanks, I’d either rent a trailer or borrow one.. Our Tacoma is set to pull the 6500lb RV all summer long, a little bug would be no problem back there.

Yeah, that would probably be for the best. I love these little things. Stylish, relatively robust, and easy to work on. Shame I can’t afford one.
