More albums need to open with medieval instrumentals. Also, Geezer Butler is kind of a wizard.

Geezer Butler is THE MAN. Definitely a bigger influence than anyone else on my bass playing style.

I have a bass, but I’m too inept to have a style yet - which means I can’t identify a primary influence as such. That said, my favorites list would be something like John Entwistle, Steve Harris, Jack Bruce, Geezer Butler, Boz Burrell, Cliff Burton, “Duck” Dunn, Lemmy, and a couple of others, in no particular order.

All excellent choices to study! You have good taste :)
Interesting tidbit: Cliff Burton mentioned Geezer Butler as an influence of his in interviews. Black Sabbath pretty much launched the metal movement and inspired a whole generation of metal players.

I got myself one of these, because Duck Dunn and ashtrays (which I purchased separately) and bright sound without splurging on a Ric. I have since installed the ashtrays and emblackenated the pickguard. Using a Peavey practice amp with it, which has appropriate fake tube technology.

Very nice. My P-bass clone (it’s a Matao) is a 70s model, when the finger-rest was moved as a thumb-rest (just above the E String). Something like this, but with a black pickguard and the split pickup:
Mine was complete with the original pickup and bridge covers too. I removed the covers because for a while I was changing strings frequently, and because I like to vary my right hand position along the strings for different tones. I also removed the thumb-rest— I normally place my thumb on the string immediately above the one I’m plucking (I tend to use the edge of the pickup or neck when playing the E-string).
The chrome covers look nice, but I don’t care for them being in the way while playing. But they are absolutely worth holding on to, because most older bases have lost them to time.

Tortoiseshell pickguard on the one in the pic is rather nice, but it doesn’t always work with all colors. I went with black for mine because... well, I had some semigloss vinyl paint hanging around. But, IMO, any step away from standard white pickguard on black (yechh) is a good step.
Left a bassist off the list (he’d be under “couple of others” along with Chris Squire I guess):
Burke Shelley of Budgie. Particularly in tone and overall sound.
You might ask why Geddy Lee isn’t on the list as high - well, I like his playing and appreciate his talent immensely, but something about the style of his runs and his tone doesn’t make me want to emulate them immediately the way some of these others do. Not usually. FWIW
