When I first heard these videos, these cars sounded “sad.” It’s not the general sound of the car over any sort of driving, it’s one specific type of acceleration and shifting pattern.
It must be the gradual, low-RPM acceleration producing the BRRRMMM that resonates and echoes deeply. Though why that sounds sad, I have no clue.

Those are some pretty long gears in that T/A. 20mph change over 500rpm in not the highest gear. Or that’s totally normal and I just drive wimpy vehicles.
