I did. Read about it on the Beeb yesterday. If it is, in fact, a nuke, that only (only!) leaves 5 unaccounted for.

I think the saddest lost nuke is the one on the A-4 that accidentally rolled (while piloted) off the elevator of Ticonderoga. I mean plane crashes are unavoidable, but just rolling off the side of a carrier seems like it should be ludicrously easy to prevent.

My work here is done. Once a teacher, always a teacher. Come February, or sooner, I’ll close the book on these posts and get back to writing about obscure or one-off aircraft. In doing research for these posts, I’ve come across a bunch that I have never heard of myself, and I’ve got a ton of them lined up.
