Pairing your lackluster cars with a Star Wars commercial will not help save the brand. Sincerely, Scary_consumer of Hamms

Selling the Micra in the US will help them a lot! If they can start it below 10k in Canada, then an 8-9k MSRP is definitely doable down here.
sm70- why not Duesenberg?

Nobody would buy it, apparently all they want at that price range is a Cheep.

But why

I don’t see a car in the US every being put on sale for sub $10k again.

I learned from another opponaut here that the Sentra is actually slower than my 96 Corolla.
There are dump trucks that are faster than my 96 Corolla. My car is 20 years old! How did they let this happen?

No. What they need is a portfolio of high-quality products that differentiate themselves from the competition enough to cause someone to give them a look. You can cultivate a group of buyers from there. It worked for Ford, it worked for Hyundai, it worked for Honda, and it can work for Nissan.
Also, they need to kill the CVT. It’s terrible. There are better solutions on the market so just use them.

You can get a Mirage for under 10k I think. I’m sure it’s the best mid-90s car you can buy brand new, today.
Though taking business advice from Mitsubishi might be slightly dubious

That’s just it, they let it happen.

speaking of CVT’s, they should not have the stupid software that mimics a regular transmission, since it doesn’t do a good job and also defeats the purpose of a CVT! “infiniti speed automatic” :p

also funny since the Nissan/Mitsu thing :p
And the Micra is probably MUCH better than the Mirage!

All I’m saying is that if they can do it in Canada and Europe, then they can definitely do it down here. The Micra already meets US standards, so why not expand to our much-larger market?
You also have to remember that wages have been stagnating and falling for many years, so people can’t really afford new cars anymore. Nissan also has a much wider dealer network than Mitsubishi. If they were sold down here, almost every Uber taxi would be a Micra (except their higher offerings like Uber Black)

I disagree. I think lots of people would buy it. Wages have been stagnating and falling for many years, and people can’t afford new cars anymore.
The Mirage and Spark are NOT worth 14k!

I have a Titan XD with the Cummins 5.0 diesel this weekend. it’s a credible truck. they position it as a “tweener” but it feels every bit as big as an F-250.

That front end isn’t particularly appealing though.

I see your point. But I don’t think Uber is profitable enough for the average person to warrant buying a specific car for it. Unless Uber is trying to become a legit taxi service. I honestly don’t know.

and? people buying work trucks don’t pick and choose based on front end styling.

That could work, but it’s one model. In 2016 I don’t the majority of consumers want a car label as the most basic of base models. Now thats just aneed opinion, but one model for a smaller company is not going to save and elevate a brand like Nissan needs to survive.

Knew that was a week agreement I know. I don’t know anything about that truck besides the engine. Nissan needs a couple of models to regain a foothold. Regardless of what they might be. That truck could be better than anything else on the market, but may not sell because it’s not a Ford, Chevy, etc.

They’re good. The oldest car in my family is a 2008 Nissan Rogue SL that my sister drives. I sat in a new Murano when they came out last year and the seats felt like clouds.
