Do they not sell it in 5qt jugs? I’ve seen the 0w-XX pennzoil platnium whatever for $25 a jug.

Order it online? My experience, admittedly from across the globe, is that you can get the same (brand, viscosity, everything) for a lot less if you simply order it.
Besides, do modern cars in the US still use semi synthetic? Other than my carbed ‘86 with old school 1970s tech I use full synthetic in everything. And I certainly don’t pay as much as $50 for a 5L jug. Usually about €25-35 or so.
