I want an old Crown Vic

A P72. The only ones I ever see for sale have vinyl tops, often leather interior, and for some reason they’re always white. I want a dark coloured, fleet-spec Crown Vic, on steelies with dog dishes. I don’t know much about Panthers so I have no idea how hard these are to find generally, just that they basically don’t exist locally. I’m assuming they were sold at auctions and beat on till they were dead, just like P71s are now. There’s still tons of those for sale, but I don’t really want one.

Anyways, here’s more P72 goodness

I know I said dark coloured, but I like this a lot too

I’d also be happy with a B-Body without a vinyl top, but those also don’t seem to exist. Not that there are any B-Bodies for sale that haven’t been donk’d or low-rider’d, or just driven into the ground.

I really like these old Police CVs as well. You don’t see any nice ones anymore.

They came with a 351w and a 2v carb until the end - low compression, choked heads, intake, and exhaust. That said, even a mild 351 would make these great drivers and would be relatively a straightforward swap.

Unlimited technology from the whole universe, and you wanna cruise ‘round in a Ford P.O.S.?

It wasn’t a very good movie, but it was amusing.

Word word word word. We can do this budget AF.

GT40P Exploder heads (milled), Eddie Torker, Holley carb, a decent bumpstick, headers, H-pipe and a catback of your choice. You can dig some 3.73s from an F-150 8.8 and well.... The auto will take a few tricks. Stall, valve body....

Yes. Yes you do. I’ve owned several box Crown Vics. They rule.

Somewhere out on the internet is a build blog of a guy who took a two door coupe body (mercury something or other) of this vintage and grafted it onto a modern P71 chassis. He finished it in black. It seemed pretty cool when he was done.

My grandpa had one just like this (color, wheels, interior) when I was quite young. Always loved that car.

This reminds me...

There’s a young-ish (hell, I’m 41...they all appear young) kid in our accounting department that shows up a couple of times a week in what appears to be a 1982 Mercury Grand Marquis. The thing looks nearly pristine, except for a couple of rust spots peeking out from under the front wheel arch trim on the driver’s side.

The other days, he drives an early-2000's Ranger. I admire his taste at his young age.

Also, when I first met my gf 13 years ago, her dad drove an LTD of approximately the same vintage as that black interceptor above.

My music teacher in middle school had one of those... in 1993... I rarely see them any more, at least in salt territory. I wonder if they all haven’t been copped/muni’d/taxied into the ground by now.

Mmm... cornering lamps...

I think I would go for a G body Malibu or Cutlass just because they have the same lines in a smaller package, but I personally like the 4 doors the best.

That’s weird, it’s dead for me too. I haven’t seen Canadian Moose post on here in a lot time, and I can’t seem to find his page anymore. I guess when he left at some point between 2016 and now, he killed his page too. Or he’s changed his username and there’s just something wrong with the link, but searching for mod box in Oppo gets me nothing. It comes up on gis though, if you search mod box grand marquis
