Still love the 454SS. Slow, not really that “sporty” but definitely badass.

Odd. I was always under the impression all F-bodies were body-on-frame.

Gens 1&2 were not true unibody. Front subframe was close to a real frame but ended under the doors. Rear rails were spot welded to the floor pan from the tail panel to under the rear seat area.

The only thing the Shelby truck did right is show the Mopar engineers that you could indeed shoehorn a V8 in that thing. 175hp does not make sport.

Yes, but compared to the convertibles V6, the Shelby is a tad bit higher on the performance scale... not by much.

It would probably be out dragged by a Jetta today.

wins just for shear lunacy. 8.3L Viper V10, 500hp, 6 speed manual, 0-60 in 4.9 seconds, 154 mph top speed.

I will concede that the SRT-10 was faster, more bonkers, and more awesomer because manual, but you will never convince me it was the best.

agree - always really liked the Lightening. Great looking, fast as heck, not very practical. I think it’s the best looking version of that model F150.
