I’ve been not-quite-seriously looking for a square shaped watch. I have 3 round nice-ish watches and I’ve been wanting a square one. I started looking at vintage ones and discovered this beautiful !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! . Too bad I’m not even remotely considering dropping a grand on a watch.

Yeah, this ebay seller seems to sell things very much on the high end of the price range. Most of their stuff looks in great condition—they say they restore stuff—and has pretty photos. But looking through their store , all the prices are high.

If looking for square face search eBay for old Seiko watches . Lots of them out there for $15-60. Most are quartz but have even seen a few automatics for bargain prices. Back in the day I had a square faced Sieko water resistant automatic that I even wore when surfing if I wasn’t wearing my diver.

Yeah I’m looking through other options as well, I still feel like I can find something I like in a more reasonable price range.

Restoring watches is terribly expensive. I unwisely spent $600 restoring a 1940 Bulova once. Pretty, but it’s probably worth $200 on a very very good day.
