One day, if/when the transmission or engine goes in my Legacy, I wanna find a crashed one of these and transplant the drivetrain. It would be even more of a sleeper. That won’t be for some time though, and I’m definitely not replacing anything before it breaks, other than maybe suspension.

its just a STI drive train. dont kill a unicorn, find a trashed STI and just steal that stuff.

That’s why a crashed one, I definitely wouldn’t ruin a good one. I just assumed one of these would be easier because it would have the right AWD stuff for a manual Legacy, from what I’ve read it’s completely different from the auto stuff I have

While you could finagle an STi drivetrain into your Legacy, a wrecked example of one of these would make things easier. I would like to do the same thing, only to a 2009 Outback Limited.
