Ha no - it was a Chevy, you can see the badge on the front fender. Was too lazy to walk across the parking lot to get a better photo. It looked worse in person than on potato cam.

Potato cam makes shitboxes look better in pictures? I see a lucrative Craigslist based side business in your future.

it would be a T1000, the J cars were the Cavalier and Sunbird (and whatever forgettable ones Buick and Olds offered.)

Awesome. Brings back some great memories. My old roommate had a light blue coupe...and we all called it ‘the vette’. It barely ran, but it got him the 2 miles to work (almost) every day. When it didn’t start, he’d just walk. He would occasionally borrow my GTI when he would go on dates. Every once in a while, when I’d ask him if he needed my car on Friday, he would proudly walk into the room and announce “Have a good night, fellas, I’m taking my girl out in the ‘vette tonight! Wish me luck!!!”
I miss that bastard, and that crappy car.

Ha yep that sounds about right. They were cheap and took lots of abuse and mostly worked. RWD and manual, so somewhat fun to drive too. Though I wonder if that was the car he took when he wanted to dump someone?

It was. But I suspect it was also the car he took when he wanted to know if someone really liked him , in spite of the fact that they might get stranded somewhere. Or that she’d have to pay for gas (It was ALWAYS on E). Or a cab. Or a tow. Or dinner. Or all four of those things.
Yeah, he was a great roommate.
