I say bring on the snow!

I say that all the time regardless of tire status, but nobody listens.

It’s about that time isn’t it? I bought yokohama Ice guard tires last year and they’re great in the snow but terrible in the rain especially over 40 F. So I’m waiting to put them on until it gets a little colder.

Enjoy. Its a pretty good winter tire. I got a set for one of our body shop guys for his Cadillac DTS and he loved them.

I have the same tires for my NA during winter use. They do an amazing job. Couldn’t believe I was able to get my tiny car through several inches of snow while hooning around in a parking lot.

yeah that can be trade off, good ice or poor wet. I have had half a new set for a few weeks and they seem to do fine in the wet. Ca’t wait to try em in snow though!

Oh that’s dope. Esp with it being RWD it’s even better to hear how happy your are with them. I only got these due to them being the only one they had in my size when i needed to buy the first two. it was in a pinch so I didn’t schedule in advance.

Nope, never even driven in snow before. I really liked my Pilot Super Sports on my old WRX and I appreciate their LeMans sponsorship so I’m giving them a shot. Their reviews on tire rack were pretty good so I’m trying them out.

I live in New Haven, CT and it actually snowed yesterday. I’m from SoCal and I just moved here to CT for school a few months ago. And I traded up my 2013 WRX for a new STi so I still have AWD

nice, but don’t get cocky with that AWD. It will not save you... when you actually get your first snow find some where safe to play and figure it out a bit. AWD is great! but it’s no savoir if you don’t know how to handle it in the snow. Upstate NY my self and 90% of the cars I see on the side of the road are AWD cars and trucks when it snows.

Yup, I know. I actually went up to DirtFish rally school in Washington state after I got my STi and took one of their courses to learn how to control the car. I’ve never tried it in mine, but I have decent idea how to control the weight and power of an AWD car if it starts to sliding. I spun off the track a few times after hitting the brakes when the back end slides out so I know not to do that. I fully intend to keep the shiny side up and I respect the car and awd with good snow tires is about all you can ask for so I get that this is all on me now.

Yeah, it’s a shit ton of car to handle and I’m still 21 and stupid, but I think I’ve maximized my chances of not fucking up assuming I use my head and don’t hold my own personal gymkhana in a snowy parking lot.
