Dude 1: Dude, I’ve been going to track days! What have you been doing?
Dude 2: I’ve been going to anime conventions!
Dude 1: That’s so stupid! My expensive hobby is better than your expensive hobby!

Fact: my last trackday was my bachelor party 9 years ago. Used to do 3-5 a year.

Current girl I am dating wants to build up a 74 mustang with a coyote motor, helion twin turbo kit, a t56 and 28inch drag slicks.
I think we will get along just fine in the future

74 is an interesting choice, does she already have one lying around or just really drawn to the Mustang II era?

LMAO. Excellent post! I just wish sometimes I could identify with the bottom half instead of the top half.... but I have three awesome boys now and soon enough we will all get to do Trackdays.

That’s the most depressing thing I’ve heard today, and that includes having my overall mark in English drop because they failed to update the course page to keep up with the marking software, and apparently it’s my problem now.

Hey, it’s ok. It was time to stop, I was at the point of needing to either try to go racing or keep getting frustrated with the shortcomings of cheap street cars, and I couldn’t afford or justify building a race car (or buying the truck & trailer to transport it) or buy a better platform to track. I sure as hell can’t afford it now, so no point worrying myself over it. It was fun while it lasted.

Fair enough. I’m sort of in the “autocross to amateur drifting” price bracket, although nobody really knows what the hell I’m now classed as in autocross (3800 lb barge with a stock powertrain other than exhaust, but a pretty much custom spring and damper setup, wicked alignment, and some minor functional body modifications).

That’s what I’d like to get to once the kids are older. Love your Vic, by the way. I’ve got a beater cheap E36 to daily and do that stuff with, it’s hammered and has 266k miles, but it’s a stick with an LSD and I have less than a grand in it.

Dude, you have to pick up an extinguisher, bracket, and bald drift spares and go shred a local event next year. So much fun.

Might have to do that.

Even if you want to rent an F-150 and a flat deck u-haul, a whole day will be something like $275 including a pair of drift spares, entry fees, and all rental fees.

I have the old F150, so that’s covered. If I start beating on the E36 with that kind of mileage, something is going to give so trailering is the only way so I don’t get stranded.

So that will be around $200 for the event including a flat deck rental. Not bad at all.

That’s doable. It’s finally raining here, guess I’d better get to practicing then.
