Will Wheaton was at LTU for some reason, and no one told me before I left for work. So I missed out on meeting someone from Star Trek TNG, which is a life goal of mine. I’ve never met a Star Trek actor and this opportunity was only 10 minutes from my house, and 15 minutes from work. I feel like I was bitch slapped by a giant grasshopper in missing this.... :’(

Worst Wednesday this semester too because I’m also questioning how many loans does someone have to take out to attempt a chance at making your dream job a reality before it’s actually not worth it, unless your parents have mortgages of money?

At least my grades are good this semester.

We had a Halloween potluck today - the whole IT team dressed as Star Trek. I was Commander William T. Riker

Not as cool as meeting Wesley, but he is a bit of an ass anyway.

I thought 2G Star Trek was so cool when it first came out and now, I find it so cheesy... My taste has definitely shifted.

I met a lot of the cast at trek conventions in SF in the 90s. I am basically the coolest person to ever exist. I’m slowly rewatching TNG on netflix right now. I have to say, I’ve forgotten how bad TV used to be.

well, at least you’re looking to get into an in-demand field. I had a few piddly scholarships/grants, but borrowed my way through LTU. though that was when freshman engineering courses were $230 per credit hour. My eyes bleed when I look at their tuition and fee schedules today.

just asking. you’re spending/borrowing a lot of money, but it’s at least for a degree in an in-demand field so you’ll have a decent chance at a well paying job. if you were going for a humanities degree I’d say you were off your rocker.
