Cheap Olympus E-1 with an ancient Zuiko 55mm f1.2, wide open. I realize I need a better lens for this unit; just a couple of hours ago I won an auction for a Zuiko Digital 14-42mm ED AF lens. However, there were some cool blur/halo effects that came from using this odd little lens:

Very pretty. I bet it sharpens up a ton by f2.0, but where’s the fun in that?

The adapter I’m using is a little annoying in that you can focus past infinity so you have to be quite careful. I’m still learning this camera so I went for high shutter speed at dusk knowing that I might have a little trouble focusing if I stopped down the lens a tad.

The 55mm f1.2 is known for the flaws that make for interesting effects. I’ll take the camera to work tomorrow and do some shooting on my lunch break, trying to stop down the lens a tad to see how that improves things.
