Seriously considering this bad idea. Quick respray or wrap, detail it up. Swap in some better seats. Replace the shocks. Put some good, sticky summer tires on it. Enjoy.

I like the wrap idea. Have seen a Golf that had shit body when purchased. The owners did decent body work but just rattle canned the primer and then hit it with spray touch-up paint on just the repairs. They didn’t even care if the color matched perfect. After a wet sand to level things nicely they had it wrapped. Looked great and was much less than a repaint and I’d dare to say better than a cheap body shop job. Also saw a “Sharpie paint job” MkI at Carlisle several years back. That takes just primer , a lot of “Sharpie” pens and clear sealer. Actually something I’d consider for a fun DD or track car. If done correctly they can look pretty nice.

That car doesn’t look bad at all. Just do some research on this specific model.

I almost bought a $1500 Jaguar XJR on the other side of the country last month. That would have been the worst decision.
