Starting to think this thing is cursed as we’ve been dealing with an oil leak on my STI ever since we replaced the old turbo. It’s been great for at least a month, one autocross shakedown, once a week commutes to work, quick jaunts around town. But this morning the leak is back after sitting for maybe 2 weeks, and I’m supposed to rallycross on Sunday (the whole reason I’ve been working on this car is to get into more rallycross & eventually rally sprints.)
Cross your fingers I can figure out where it’s leaking now and get it fixed before Sunday morning :(

I have a phantom leak on my e36 that disappears for a while after running the car hard (maybe the heat gums up oil on the break in a gasket or something, who knows). Should maybe fix that some day, or just drive above 5000rpm at all times.

I think the latter is a better idea.

I think I know what it is, the aftermarket braided oil feed cant sit flush against the block because of the AN T-fitting, so i had to use two copper crush washers to give it just enough clearance to sit flat. (this is the manufacturer recommended solution if you can believe it.) Worked for a while, but if it’s leaking again now I might just let the car run over my head down the driveway.

Nylon washer between the crush washers perhaps?

Ugh I feel your pain :( good luck with the fix and try to be optimistic... I’m really bad at that. My car was broken and then fixed for a show last weekend, but is now broken again, in a new way. Life is just so much fun sometimes...
