Well it’s been a year now, and with the second kid, it’s been the perfect family car. I don’t miss the Mustang...
Plus, with a cargo box on top, who needs a minivan or a big ass SUV?

I drove one of these when they first came out. Felt extremely competent then.

I test drove a used one of these a few years ago. I liked it, but I got the impression that the particular one I drove had been beaten on. That scared me away, and I haven’t seen another one since.

Wait...the Optima comes with a manual option??? I didn’t know this, and I quite like the styling of the Optima!!! Especially if we ever get the Optima wagon!

Well, it did, up to 2013. It was kind of a secret, it wasn’t mentionned in the brochure. It’s no sport sedan, but still a 200hp 6 speed family car!

I’m happy enough with a stick in ANYTHING, so #savethemanuals ! :D
Was looking it up after this article last night and it only comes with a 6-speed auto and 7-speed DSG now :(

No I try to take it off when I don’t need it for a long time, because it adds like 1L/100km of fuel consumption

I figured it must hit the gas mileage a bit. Not that I care much about gas mileage in my Miata much but using my trunk mounted rack is nice since it doesn’t affect the mileage. Though it certainly eliminates rear visibility!
