Not just CP, but I believe that’s the one with the transmission that doesn’t work very well. And I wonder what’s wrong with it ...?

You know me - always worst-case-scenario. I’d like to think I was more fun 20 years ago.

And how much to put a clutch in it?

Wouldn’t you rather have a Phaeton W12?

$2,000

Since it’s a Maserati, I would probably be fine with it.

That’s far less than I would have imagined - more like 3 times that figure.

And what about a Phaeton W12 (he asks again)? I’d sure help you drive it home.

If I wanted a giant luxobarge (and needed a car) I’d get the last gen S-Class, just to see if I could learn to use all the gizmos and widgets.

Considering it’s the manual, has low mileage, and has about $1700 in wheels alone on it, I’d say NP. Maseratis of the 2000s are surprisingly reliable as long as you don’t buy one with the Duoselect/Cambiocorsa gearbox.

I often wonder that what if scenario ... if I’d gotten that job in White Plains, and I had to do a reverse commute out of Manhattan, what car would I buy? That last Saab 9 series, the very last one? A Phaeton W12? A used Mercedes S Class? A used 7 series? A ridiculously depreciated exotic? Bentley? Maserati? Cheap Gallardo? What would I really do?
