Guuuud.

It’s been too long since I had this. All my close liquor stores stopped ordering Stone, I only know of two that still carry some, and they’re both inconveniently located.

I was hoping for Double Bastard to appear, but I don’t think it’s being made this year. At least, I can’t tell from their site.

Me too, I haven’t seen it anywhere, just the Arrogant Bastard. I also seem to have missed Breakside India Golden Ale, which makes me very sad

They’ve had several rereleases this year, for their 20th anniversary. I don’t remember if that was one of them that was on tap at the Richmond brewery last time I went there.

I’ve been mostly drinking brown and blonde ales lately. I was starting to miss the hoppiness. I’m only 20 minutes from one of the breweries, so I don’t have much of an excuse haha

Double Bastard could turn me into a raging alcoholic if it was made year-round.

Ooh, Albania. Nice. All three look interesting, actually.

The Albania one is nifty since I’m in good ol’ USA. A coworker went to visit family in the Switzerland area of Europe and brought that bottle back to me. I hated it at first and only kept it for the novelty of having a foreign liquor, but now I rather enjoy it.

The scotch I first found when a buddy of mine bought 15 drams from masterofmalt.com (we had to get a bunch because shipping from there is $$$) and we both bought one from the year we were born. This one was distilled in 1990. Some of the scotch was too strong, one tasted like a campfire, and this one tasted heavenly. I had to buy a bottle of it. It was $140 on masterofmalt and that was the only place I could find it. Shipping was $40 for that one bottle and I couldn’t bring myself to buy it. That was until I realized that it was the last bottle they had.

The Holy Grail Ail is from a 6-pack my girlfriend bought me from World Market. It tastes absolutely horrible. I keep it for the fun factor.

Yeah, i’ve heard the Holy Grail ale is awful. I’d like to try beers from certain countries. Not sure Albania is on the list, but other counties in that area of the world (Ukraine, Russia, Romania, Moldova, etc.) definitely are.

We used to be able to get the Black Sheep Ale and the Holy Ail. Really enjoyed them both.

How’s the Bunnahabhain?

:o

We only have Stone Americano here. It’s hideously expensive but worth every penny. I need to try this one

Yo! Arrogant Bastard and all sub brands are no longer part of Stone Brewing Company. Well, they are, but Stone created a sub brand called Arrogant Brewing. I noticed it when AB and Wussie came out in cans a few months ago - not a single Stone Brewing Co label anywhere on the bottles. Anyshits, release date for double bastard is 10/26. Cheers!

Except I think that’s last years release date. I can’t find anything on the web that shows this year’s date.

Hmmm, looks like you’re right. I didn’t pay attention to the year listed. I can’t imagine them not selling it. We’ll see shortly.

It’s very, very good. Very hoppy and citrusy.

I haven’t had the Americano yet, but their current seasonal beer is a mocha IPA, which is incredible. Very expensive even here, though. $16.99 USD for a 6-pack.

I NEED TO TRY IT

Americano is $30 USD here for a 6 pack :( I buy a couple at a time. Damn, it’s good though.

Trade you a 6-pack for an R33 :P

I think my local craft beer shop had some of the Americano left when I was there last time. I’ve been meaning to go back there recently. There are also a couple of new breweries within walking distance of it, so I could knock out all that in one afternoon. Stone also has a brewery about half an hour from me, but I don’t think they had the Americano when I was there last time.

A brewery half an hour from you

Jesus man, livin’ the life. I’m so used to seeing your American beers on here. It’s nice to know there’s one we can get! From what I’ve been told by the staff, it’s only arrived in stores recently.

Yeah, it’s quite convenient. About 20 other small breweries in the metro area here, too, and dozens more within two hour’s drive. Makes up for the speeding laws here (although it isn’t as bad as the FP makes it out to be).

Do they carry the regular Stone IPA? I figure that one would be most likely to be sold overseas.

That’s amazing! I have a few breweries around me which I confess I haven’t yet visted. But nowhere near 20!

Not that I know of. I’ve only seen Americano, and even that’s always a struggle to find. But I will look for it.

Heh, same for me. I think out of the local ones, i’ve only been to two, and a few regional ones. Although I didn’t start going to them until this year.

I was putting together an order for some beer glasses today when I realized they stock Stone beers! Most are out of stock including Ruination, but they have the Mocha IPA you raved about. I’ll pick one up since I’m already paying shipping :D
