You’re just calling it an SVO to justify your purchase.

I always think of the current Mustang as large until I see it next to one of its predecessors. It’s definitely longer, lower, and wider than that SVO, but it doesn’t actually look that much bigger in these photos.

Totally. 230,000 mile SVO that has been on fire and blown 6 headgaskets over 11,000 mile Ecoboost Premium.

Do you realize that the current Mustang sits on a wheelbase that’s shorter than the original (1965: 108", 2016: 107.1")? Or that the current car is only longer and wider by 7" (1965: 181.6", 2016: 188.3")?
The S550 is almost exactly the same size as 69-70 models.

You really need to see it in person, it’s not terrible, but nobody in their right mind would pick that SVO over his Ecoboost.

Im in process of rebuilding an RX7 that sat for 10 years. I live in Michigan where new cars turn to rust in three years. Takes more than that to scare me

“Instead of the new car with a warranty, far more features, objectively better performance, a quiet comfortable ride, and better fuel economy I’ll take the ancient-ass car with shit suspension, shit for power, an interior falling apart, brakes that don’t work (gotta double-pump them), NVH levels off the damn charts, etc. etc.”
Say what you will about nostalgia but there are zero compelling reasons for that SVO

Those numbers are nice but they don’t convey bulk.

Haha. No I didn’t. That’s funny.
Miata’s are tiny, Mustangs aren’t. I was speaking more to model bloat than where the Mustang sits in the overall scheme of vehicle size. Mustangs really aren’t any bigger than they’ve ever been, just heavier.
That said, I’ve driven a new Mustang and it’s much to big for my tastes. I like cars the size of the Toyobaru and Miata.

Big is good for comfort. Small is fun but often uncomfortable on longer drives.

Warranty is voided when i get my hands on a car. New is too expensive anyway. I dont want any features. electronic aids suck. Suspensions can easily be upgraded along with enough power to be fun. Brakes that dont work is another easy fix called replacement parts. and guess what all that is done with about 10k.

Oh yeah. I bet the Mustang is great for long distance cruising.
