I feel like a bad owner. That won’t buff out.
I've never curbed a wheel before, I guess because I've never owner a car with curb-able wheels. Poor Subie, it doesn't deserve this.

Everyone does it, even the best of us!

Don’t feel bad, it happens. I once curbed a wheel on a $120,000 Jag XJL Supercharged Portfolio.

The wheels on my car were in pretty rough shape when I got it last year - curb rash and the whole gamut - so I normally wouldn’t even be able to tell (after the fact) if I had curbed them... but I know for a fact at some point in time I did because one of the tires (which I got brand new) has curb rash... -_-
I feel like you could try to sand them down and try to find a matching silver touchup paint though, no?

Try curbing your wheel, repair it then curb it again two days later after it came back from the shop. Took a sharp corner avoiding a bad driver. Now I just pretend I don’t see it, it’s on just one wheel.

Think this only works with painted wheels, not sure how the shop fixed my polished aluminium wheel...

I feel your pain mate - you’re not the only one. I’ve never curbed my wheels, but I got a little too close to a curb this morning at work in a very tight parking lot and scraped the front-left corner of my Accent’s lower bumper to hell...very pissed at myself :(

Ah. I thought painted. For that you’d need 600, 1000, 1500 grit sand paper and some polishing compound.

I did this, too. I bought some wheels with pretty bad rash once. I bondo’d the wheel, painted, and was good to go. Had the wheels on for a couple of years with no issue. Had tires mounted after I had ‘repaired’ them, too.

Two of mine are really bad from a guy trying to turn through my car into a shopping center. Thankfully a Honda Fit and a Fiat combined don’t take up much more than a lane width - and my horn isn’t as wimpy as you’d expect - so there wasn’t any other damage.

Maybe, it’s deeper than it looks though, I don’t know how well that would turn out

I still haven’t pulled the trigger on decent summer wheels - I’m afraid I’d be too stressed about curbing another set.
Between the nice silver rash on my matte black wheels and the black scuffs on my white bumper I look like a pretty terrible driver.

I feel your pain. The XC70 was the first car I’ve owned I years that had “nice” wheels...of course I live on a hill and have to curb wheels...now 3/4 of them got curb rash....I want to fix them, but I know I’ll just screw them up...

Yeah that sucks :/ two of the other wheels were already curbed when I got the car, so I figure one day I’ll just get them all refinished, or maybe just make these the winter wheels, and get a nicer set for summers

Ah it’s tough to tell depth in this photo. I would almost suggest a body filler like Bondo but after another bad experience with it this weekend, I don’t want to put that in somebody else too... XD
I’m not sure if body filler would be good on wheels anyway. I would think there’s gotta be in especially made for wheels - curb rash isn’t very rare.
