In MT’s latest Head-2-Head, Jonny Lieberman says that Jaguar has a history of introducing cars that are visually stunning, and then making them look worse as time goes on. The latest example, according to him? The F-Type.
What does Oppo think? Has Jaguar’s meddling in the name of improvement done a disservice to the car?

You can’t compare the coupe to the convertible. Coupe wins every time. But yeah I don’t like the little chin goatee either. I feel like aston martin is more guilty of the added trinkets than jaguar.

Outside of smearing poop on it, there aren’t many ways of making a F type uglier
(waits for someone to use Google to prove me wrong)

I know, I was trying to find a picture of a 2013 and a 2016 from the same general angle and had a tough time.

Mansory could do it.

The chin was the only thing I agreed with.

Nope. Still one of the best looking cars on the road.

agree with the “making it uglier” premise

To me, the completely boring silver, those ugly wheels and out of nowhere yellow from the callipers makes for an ugly F-Type. Worse spec there could be IMO.

No, but the AMG looks way better

I have a hard time telling them apart.

Coupe/convertible is hard to compare.

I’m not comparing coupe/convertible. Look at the grille and headlights.

Yeah completely understand. I was just saying the coupe E-Type can both be very beautiful and very ugly depending on what angle you look at it from. From this angle I see a dog taking a dump...

There’s a reason why the Seties III 2+2s are the cheapest way into E-Type ownership.

haha. Great point.

I must be the only one that doesn't completely love the f type, from any year. It's got great proportions but idk some lines feel out of place, kind of messy. The Amg is much simpler, less of a stunner maybe and the proportions at the back are weird, but at least it's very clean.

I actually can’t see the difference. A little chin spoiler thing, who doesn’t love those? Hardly design ruining.
