Doing a one-gear redline pull when you enter a tunnel.
I do it almost every day on my way home from school and hearing that straight six sing never gets old. Bonus that I can do it without breaking the speed limit thanks to how the car is geared.
Picture kinda related, I guess, Euro cluster though. Dat 7k redline.

Every time I go under a bridge and there’s nobody in front of me... big block V8 ROAR! No wonder I get such horrible gas milage.

Ever since I knocked my exhaust flap out (it was frozen shut), I have a lovely burble at idle and just off-idle. Is very nice.

I plan to put exhaust cutouts on. Then this will be me, but with a small block. Better save up some gas monies...

My car sounds pretty mundane until you really get on it. I wish at had just a little bit more noise at idle.

My E34’s 3.0 V8 revs to 6k, which sounds sweet.

Redline pulls in high-revving cars are the best. Once upon a time in the holland tunnel, the sound of an S54 rasping into the non-muffler that is the diablo (from the previous owner) moved New Jersey a little more towards California.
Of course, every kid in a coffee-can-mufflered civic feels the same way. This is the joy of cars.

I do this on the bike. 14K with a rev limiter ping once or twice. Just lovely.

Is the theoretical tunnel near an airport?

it sounded like the tunnel at monaco in the old days....open exhaust, and high revs.

When I used to work every day at a fancy office far away from my house, I used to go out of my way every morning just to bomb a tunnel. Some people drink coffee, I used to do that instead.

I still need to do make some noise in that tunnel. Always too much traffic to hit it during my commute.

Depending on traffic, I get to pass through a 1/4 mile tunnel on the way home. The S62 has a pretty meaty roar even with a stock exhaust.

Lovely on the E30 although I rarely go through any tunnels. When I had the S2000 I’d go out of my way to drive through some long tunnels in the city - top down, 9k redline, mile of tunnel...its a surreal feeling!

Burbly I5 roar isn’t shabby but it ain’t no Bimmer...it does have a higher power and torque band though, kind of like a Volvo version of VTEC so you have to kind of rev it for power which generates noise, most of it good...
