And I’m just sitting here: “Okay, now the big, fat, ugly corporate cattle is out of the way. MODEL 3!”
The doors are neat. I like how fast it is. It’s cool that it will protect you from airborne zombie virus outbreaks. But the most exciting thing about the Model X is that it will raise Musk money to build a Tesla I could someday afford.

I will call it a minivan until they stop calling it a SUV.

Absolutely. Especially with the scissor doors in the back, which are “alternative doors” just like sliders. And a third row. The burden is on them to NOT call it a minivan. And they can’t.

Yep, another engineering marvel just like the Model S.
But if Apple came out with a $10,000 iPhone, then a couple years later came out with a big-screen $10,000 iPhone, the entire market would be like “Meh”
Bring us the one that normal people might actually consider.

I would accept “Crossover” but not “SUV.”
Doesn’t mean it’s not an amazing vehicle, but let’s call it what it is. A GT Minivan

It’s better than I thought, but it’s still a bloated Model S to me.

I don’t quite accept “crossover” as a segment yet, since it’s the least defined of anything. Everything from FWD large hatchbacks (Rogue) to giant RWD unibody wagons (Durango) all get the same moniker, but they’re wildly different vehicles.

I think it’s a great idea. I just don’t see it being anywhere near the pricerange they are suggesting. I’m going to go on record and say that the 3 will probably be 50k+ which if I could afford that I’d get something else.

The analogy kinda works, but since it’s an iPhone, it would still sell like hotcakes anyways.

Yeah, the term “Crossover” is pretty vague too.
I suppose it’s necessary, since are a lot of vehicles between “sedan” and “SUV”
It’s better than calling everything with any added ride height an “SUV”

Everything I’m reading has them calling it a crossover...
One that can tow 5000 lbs....

I was surprised that it can tow that much.
That’s the largest towing capacity of a minivan since the Astro.

Yeah, I think it will be around the price of an ATS. Which is still expensive, but far more accessible than the 100+K you’ll need for a Model S.

If they can keep the 35k price range, there’s a good chance I’ll be ordering one soon after they come out. And looking at what they call an SUV, I’m pretty certain that the crossover 3 will totally be a wagon. Which would be great.

They need this one to sell so they can make the one we can afford.

Model 3 camp here too! By the time they actually build/release it, I should actually be able to afford it. Huzzah!

54k gets you in the door for a c7, not to mention a host of other very nice cars new and used.
I don’t see it coming in around mid 30’s or less. I suppose 40 could be promising, but guaranteed the energy costs will go up dramatically at that point as well.
What can I say, I’m a pessimist.

But if the Model 3 is faster than the C7 and runs on free magic instead of gas... Model 3.

I can’t see having a midlife crisis in a tesla.
