Alright, if you didn’t see my post yesterday, my wheel cylinder failed. Well we replaced it. We bled it from that corner, but it still doesn’t stop right. Do I need to bleed all corners? If not that, our next guess is the master cylinder.

Thanks! Toyota’s current lie for your time.

May or may not be accurate, but:

You may have an air bubble further up the line or into another line.

Bleed starting furthest away then working next furthest at each corner working towards master cylinder.

I hope you bought a big bottle.

Is this actually the under workings of your Toyota? It’s so very clean and shiny!

Nope, that’s the 2016 Tacoma, hence the comment about Toyota’s biggest lie. There is no point for it having drum brakes. They suck. Though mine’s pretty much 100% rust free.

Ah I was wondering why it had leafies. I’m not fully clued up on 4runners (or even Toyota’s entire North America lineup), I didn’t know if they perhaps came with different suspension options.

What’s your lift on that?

On a side note- I drove a 3rd gen years ago in Costa Rica and the shocks were completely shot, I just floated and bump-stopped my way across miles and miles of rough tracks. My arse has never been so bruised, but it was an absolute ton of fun.

It’s a 4 inch lift(101 mm). It’s shocks are running out of life, but it’s still not that uncomfortable.

Just as a general rule of thumb, if you have done something that you need to bleed one, you need to bleed them all. Probably needs a full brake flush anyway. Brake flushes are possibly the most overlooked regular maintenance procedure out there.
