Here is Harry Hawker, chief test pilot for the Sopwith Aircraft Company, and one of the founders of Hawker Aircraft. His ride was a Sunbeam-Mercedes and it was quite quick. When not flying aircraft he was a regular at Brooklands. During WWII the Hawker company built Hurricanes at Brooklands. Sadly, Harry was not there to see it as he died in a crash in 1921.

Plane crash or car crash? I would hate to die doing my job.
Also that car must be 22’ long.

Crashed a plane while practicing for an air race. They say he had a hemorrhage.

That car has a V12 airplane motor and had to be stretched 10” to fit.
Just did some googling. That's some crazy stuff.
