I don’t know if this is what comes to mind when you hear “barn-find,” but this car was actually sitting in a barn for years and years, no one using it. My brother in law bought it to fix up for my sister. 1986 Jaguar XJS with 20K on the clock.
He has been cleaning it to within an inch of its life, got the shine back pretty soon, but it had the typical things wrong you’d expect from a car sitting in a barn for a long time, rodents nesting in the engine, rugs crumbling into dust, old gas to be pumped out and replaced, etc.

Can anyone here recommend any reputible Jag parts catalogs, websites, etc., so he can get going on some of the things that need going after? It needs the full carpet replacement, new headliner, probably a lot of rubber trim and stuff like that. He doesn’t want some third world sweat shop knock-off parts, but he also doesn’t want to walk into a Jag dealership and pay top dollar at their parts counter.
Any help would be appreciated, Thank you.

Edit: My mistake, it has 20K on the odometer!

Ask The Google. There are plenty of sources.

Best thing to do is find a “brick and mortar “ Shop in your area or close that specializes in Brit cars.

Moss Motors ( http://www.mossmotors.com ) is a fantastic resource for pretty much any British car. I haven’t looked at their Jag stuff, but I’ve been using them heavily in getting my barn-find MGA on the road, and they have pretty much everything you could ever want: for the MG at least, if you’ve got a chassis and engine, you could probably build the rest of the car from the catalogue.

Nice! We had a family friend with one just like this when they were new. I believe it was even an ‘86, with a V12.
