Yesterday, the configurator for the new 2016 Ford Focus launched, including the long awaited Focus RS, packing 345 horsepower, AWD, and Drift Mode. How would you build yours?
Personally, I’d go for one in Nitrous Blue (because of course) with 19” wheels and Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 summer tires, for a total of $39,290.
The real question is, the FoRS or a Golf R?

Pretty much the base model in stealth gray with the moon roof. The best part is if I get this new job at a software company I could make this a reality

I’d lease a Golf R (because lol German engineering) as I just don’t need something as hardcore as a WRX STi or a Focus RS - as absolutely fucking awesome as they are.
Still, if I had to customize the FoRS, it would be really hard to decide between the orgasmic Nitrous Blue, or go with the Stroomtrooper look with the white on black scheme.

Frozen white. Ditch the moonroof. And I’d stick with the base wheels so that I could run my own wheels and tires.

I propose FocaRSe as an alternative nomenclature.
In any case, I’d take the Focus over the Golf, any day, but would rather a Megane RS than either.

Blue with no other options. I would like the heated seats / wheel / mirrors, but they aren’t worth it since you have to buy nav to get them. Also I’m calling bullshit on having to pay $700 extra to get a color on your RS.

Stealth grey with black rims and all options except the moonroof.

I’d close the Ford configurator and go to Subaru and build a WR Blue STI Limited

I guess that should have been an alternative, but I still like the FoRS.

I would *build* my Focus RS with the 3.5TT.

Why? The 2.3EB is almost as powerful, but the 3.5EB is heavier and would mess up weight distribution and handling.

The 2.3 at its most potent won’t have anywhere near the low/mid output of the 3.5, and once you start tuning the 3.5 it’s got significantly more potential.
I really just want to see V6 Ecoboosts in something that doesn’t weigh 3800+. Maybe we’ll get an AWD Fusion RS with the 2.7TT.

I saw a Golf R this past Sunday at an Autocross. It is a great looking car. He was in my run group though so I didn’t really get to see how it performed.
