I don’t think they were really wrong about the novice driver thing to be honest. They weren’t saying a novice driver can’t hack it, but that a new team isn’t really the ideal place for either the driver or team. He would benefit more from getting a seat with a well established team, paired with a veteran, and the team would benefit from a long time veteran (perhaps slightly past his prime) and a relatively established rookie.
