I don’t see a .50mm Desert Eagle. I thought to were a Man.

What kind of sights is that for your AR? I’m looking to get one for mine and have been getting recommendations

Looks like an Aimpoint Comp M3/M4 red dot.

What are you going to use your AR for? What’s your budget? Aimpoint’s PRO is a great red dot for the money, and gives up very little to the more expensive M4s.

The kind that sits on the bench when the range is cold.

Either I’m missing the joke or he’s saying it’s 50mm not 1/2 of a mm. At any rate.. A 500 special would have a barrel as long as the entire body of any of those handguns.

Here’s the thing. I accidentally put a period in front of the “50”. But I'm not going to actually admit that.

It’ll be short range use, some hunting (coyote problem) and don’t want to waste my 35 rem ammo on them. So maybe a 3x magnification needed. I can hit a hard drive with iron sights at 80 yards currently. Budget is maybe a couple hundred.

Primary Arms makes a pretty nice 2.5x with a BDC reticle calibrated for 5.56 for $220, and a similar 5x for $290. Burris makes a 3x fixed (AR-332) and a 5x (AR-536) for less than $400. Both had pretty nice glass when I tried them out at Academy a few weeks back.

There are also a very large variety of 1-4x or 1-5x scopes on the market as well. I have a 1-6.5x Bushnell on my AR that is really nice. Being able to dial the magnification up or down depending on the range I want to shoot at and the field of view I need is a really nice feature. The Vortex Viper PST 1-4x and Leupold Mark AR 1.5-4x are some great options in the $500 range, but there are plenty of good choices around $300 if you don’t need to tacticool knobs, reticles, and so on.

Missed this gem yesterday. Nice setup there. 2 1911’s, and an M&P. I have one in .40 and love it so much. Also liking the AR and Rem 700. Is that the .308 with the 20” bull barrel?

I forgot one more (that I know of at least, I’m sure there are others) - the Vortex Spitfire 3x. They’re ~$300, and are similar to the PA and Burris fixed optics. These are all conceptually similar to ACOGs - compact, light, fixed power. No tritium or fiber optic illumination though.

If you have time to kill, browse through SWFA or Optics Planet’s websites. They should allow you to filter by price and max magnification range, narrowing down the major options for you. Also, check out B&H Photo & Video. They have surprisingly low prices for Bushnell scopes, amongst others.
