I spent this last Saturday having a blast with the California SuperBike School at the Streets of Willow. Please try to control your laughter as it is my first bike track day.

I’ll try to post more about it later, but holy moly was it fun!

Fun track! Especially for first timers. Well, except for turn 3. It seems like every time I’m out there some newb tries to take it too fast on cold tires and wrecks first thing in the morning.

The Bowl is a fun passing zone.

I loved T3, and feel like it was one of the few corners I could be really consistent in. That being said, I can see opening on the gas on cold tires, and lowsiding. I’m still very much exploring the my limits (I’m not even close to the bikes limits) on where to pass. But I can believe that 2+ wide in the bowl is awesome!

Awesome! They run year round in CA, right? I dunno that I could handle that, it’s good to have an off-season.

“Year Round” is a strong term, and only for the truly dedicated. When its 110 Degrees out, I will NOT be at the track... its just not fun when its that hot. It was supposed to be 101 this weekend but cloud cover kept it in the 90’s. As for the bank account, meh, its cheaper than my old race car and it keeps me off the streets... or something like that, lol.

Hey I did that 2 years ago! It was a lot of fun, helped me a lot at least. One thing I was surprised about, was that the instructors seemed pretty good at figuring out your pace and making you go a little bit faster without going too much faster.

the instructors are VERY good, and I’m pretty sure mine was just having fun the last session. He was only “instructing” when we were going really slllllooow. Once we turned up the pace, it was a blast, lol!
