I love spearmint. It’s the best of all mint varieties IMHO and so I was quite pleased to see a bag of spearmint candies at the grocery store for less than a dollar. Instead of picking it up, I bought the bag next to it that was a mix and appeared to have some of these same spearmint candies in it.
Boy, was I wrong. They were lime. Wrong, wrong, wrong, wrong wrong. Lime is fine in a Mojito, is great in Key Lime Pie or perhaps a splash in a glass of ice water, but does not belong in candy. There, I said it. Save green for spearmint or perhaps green apple. It’s perfectly OK to have lemon without lime; just because they are frequently seen together doesn’t mean they always need to be together.
And to make matters worse, the similar red candies in the same mix are not peppermint, as expected, but yet another fruit flavor. I’m going to go out on a limb and say that the yellow ones are not mints either. What is this world coming to???

I’m with you. Spearmint is the best mint flavor there is. I wish it was more prevalent. Enough of this Pepto-Bismol flavored wintergreen shit.
