This is a Campbells condensed chunky soup version of my review for the Sentra, because I’m leaving for a trip to St. Augustine in the morning and need to get packing. However, I felt I’d offer a preview of my opinions since I’ve had it for nearly a month now.
My findings 1,700 miles into ownership is that this car absolutely suits me. It’s large enough to be comfortable for 4 adults and plenty of luggage, but still compact enough to be tossable. With the manual, it has enough power to be fun, but will happily get 40 MPG all day (43+ cruising on the highway) when you aren’t pushing it. It’s not the most stunning compact visually, but I think the design will age well. Just the right amount of toys - power accessories, bluetooth, etc., without touchscreen this and keyless that. I really like that. And it’s hardly costing me anything to own.
I like it. I should have gotten one 4 cars ago. I’ve blocked Autotrader and informed myself as well as my friends I’m not allowed to visit a dealership (except for service on the Sentra) for 5 years. Hopefully by then I will be too attached to it to want a car payment again.

Is the interior as utterly horrifically terrible as the older generations?

Saint Augustine is amazing!
Went a few years back and it was so cool!
Also it literally gets a little cool at night so pack accordingly!

I don’t think it looks bad, but feel free to form your own opinion. The door arm rests are nicely padded, as is the center console.

I am really excited to go, my brother suggested it because he graduated from college there and I’ve never been. Thanks for the heads up, it was a brisk 55 degrees when I woke up this morning here in Pensacola!

FYI parking is very hard to come by in historic st. augustine and by the castillo de san marcos.
Have fun regardless! That city has a loooott of history and the castillo de san marcos is great to walk around.
Also, I’m surprised Nissan put a 6 speed in the Sentra. That is cool.

It’s actually not that hard for Nissan to but the 6 speed in the sentra. In other countries, most people buy the sentra and its competitors with a stick shift, although nissan will still sell the CVT model for a little extra. Plus I believe the sentra is built in Tennessee?
