1st: Gen 2 Cadillac CTS-V. Why? wagon, coupe, sedan. Finally gave Cadillac the credibility it deserved and it had 556hp. It lapped the Ring in under 8 minutes and was considered at the time the fastest sedan ever. Plus it is hot as hell.

2nd: Cadillac XLR-V. Why? It showed Cadillac was ambitious enough to stand up to the likes of the Mercedes SL. Was is a success? Debatable. However mark my words this will be one of the most collectable Cadillacs of the decade. Maybe even of the first half of the century.

3rd: Gen 3 Cadillac CTS-V. Why? It has more power than most supercars. Looks stunning. And will likely be top dog of the super sedan field. Furthermore it has a massive V8 engine. Something that every Cadillac should have.

4th: Gen 1 Cadillac CTS-V. Why? Although it might be the first ever V car the CTS-V was a bad luxury car but a good sports sedan. 400hp from an LS engine through a manual gearbox sounds like heaven. (Especially when the M3 was making roughly 65hp less at the time.) Unfortunately the interior of the CTS-V leaves a lot to be desired.

5th: Cadillac ATS-V. Why? Yes this car is stunning by all accounts. Better than the M3 according to the biggest motoring magazines but why would Cadillac not make it the absolute best car it could? The new Mercedes AMG has more horsepower out of a more emotional V8 engine. I feel the engine was a missed opportunity here. Nevertheless the car is outstanding. But not as significant a car the first generation CTS-V.

6th: Cadillac STS-V. Why? It was and still is a pretty awesome Cadillac sports sedan and the only one that could be had with a Cadillac specific Northstar engine. However it will not be remembered like the other Cadillac V cars. This is because while it was a good car it was not as significant or as important as the CTS line. It was outdone by its little brother as well. If they would have continued the line we may think differently of the first generation STS-V. But alas it will be a forgotten memory by many.

Rock on Cadillac. The V cars are all outstanding.

the only one that could be had with a Cadillac specific Northstar engine

Pretty Sure the XLR-V had the NortStar as well, with slightly less power than the STS.

I think we can all agree on the fact that we are glad they didn’t make a V-series Escalade.

Hennesey is going to be mad about that. Don’t they do at least 5 Escaldes a year?

The STS-v needs to be higher. Most powerful Cadillac engine of all time.

That is an excellent point and I actually really like the STS-V but which car would you propose the STS-V is more important than?

XLR-v or first gen CTS-v. As far as the first gen Vs go, the STS is by far the most sought after, most powerful, and rarest. My stepdad has a list in his office 50 phone numbers long of people to call if they get a STS-v in. That’s right. A car they discontinued 6 years ago has a waiting list. I’d consider that pretty memorable.

That is impressive it makes me want a STS all the more. How would you rank them?
