Why not swap the rest of the truck with the V8. I mean...why not just sell the ranger and get a Colorado V8 or F150 or something?

Because small truck + V8 = fun.

Agreed a V8 Colorado would be easier and cheaper in the long run.

F150 is not medium truck. Is big truck. Small truck V8 > Medium truck V8 anyway.

The Colorado is a small/medium truck and you could get it with the 5.3 v8 factory. Cheap performance parts go a long way in those motors

There’s a plethora of information over at Ranger Power Sports , including how-tos for V8 swaps with parts lists, etc.

But those are ‘spensive. Not that installing a 302 or 5.0L into a Ranger wouldn’t be expensive or tedious...

I think that’s mainly my point, you could spend $$$ on a ranger V8 swap and still be left with a ranger with lots of other aging parts, or you could spend $$$$ on a newer truck with a V8 already.

It would be a labor of love only in my opinion.

I’m still behind this idea.

Denver seems to love his truck, so I would imagine that’s the route he would go, unless he only loves it because it’s what he can afford right now, e.g. I like our Honda Pilot because it was free.
