You’re driving down the highway in your convertible with the top down and it’s a nice 72 degrees outside before the sun has come up to heat the day.

Next thing you know you’re being slotted into two lanes from three due to construction patterns. Whatever, it’s still nice and comfortable.

Suddenly, a torrential downpour comes out of nowhere! You’re getting soaked but there’s nowhere to turn off because the shoulders are gone for construction.

You look up through the pouring rain to try and fight to see where the lanes are because construction has shifted all the lanes and they haven’t painted reflective lines or placed “cat’s eyes” in the pavement.

Just when you think it cant get any worse...you look down at your steering wheel and realize you’ve been driving a Chrysler Sebring the whole time!!!

Nooooooooo!!!

(I picture this is what the person was thinking while driving in these conditions today)

a Sebring would be better than walking (just)

Sebring or bicycle.

I really wish people would not slow down just because it starts raining. Driving with the top down in the rain is fine as long as you are going fast enough. Only problem is that traffic slows to a halt when it downpours and then my Miata turns into a bathtub if I don’t get the top up quick enough. #firstworldproblems

I agree. I understand slowing a bit (going the speed limit, basically) since visibility becomes limited, though.

I never drive my dad’s Miata with the top down if it’s going to be raining, though.

I just assume it won’t rain ever if it isn’t currently raining. I only ever put the top up if I am already being rained upon hard.

Sometimes when it gets really bad, I have to do no more than 50 in a 70, or I'll slip/hydroplane.
