I’m kind of tired of my weak sauce Toyota horn, and am looking to upgrade? Are they really just a simple remove and replace installation?

Hahahahahah I hated my 4Runner horn. Sounded like it belonged in a Civic

My friends laughed at me when I honked at them. It was bad

Nothing is more embarrassing about it than when you set the alarm off.

What is it with trucks and SUVs and having weak horns? My dad’s Silverado’s horn sounds like it belongs in an Aveo. Meanwhile my tiny little 3 series has a louder and deeper horn.

The truck sounds like it has the low pitch side horn blown. Our Impala(until it lost it’s low side) and Trailblazer had extremely loud horns. Toyota’s just have weak ass horns.

Could be, but I feel like it always sounded like it does. Though I guess it could have been damaged/tampered with when the dealer had the lift kit and engine mods done when the truck was new. Who knows.

PS, if you want some serious noise, go yank an old Cadillac 4 note and wire it up. Might as well be a train horn.

These are high pitch but incredibly loud, 118dB.

Living in the south, I hear too many train horns. I kind of like the Supertones 118dB ear bleed factor.

I have mine from my high school Caddy somewhere. How funny would that be in my Fiat?

My toyota has a pathetically weak horn. I can’t believe it passed muster for a salable car, kind of weak.

I like the sharptone better. It's a bit lower frequency

I actually don’t mind the high frequency, it sounds different.

I swapped my stock weak matrix horn for a 40 dollar Wobo Bad Boy at Harbor freight tools. It's for motorcycles but what the hell. 120-130 ish decibals of sound

I have them on my MR2 and they are loud as hell. Exactly how horns should be. I need to get another set to put on my wagon. But no, not simple plug and play. You’ll need to wire them up with the supplied relay. I ended up using one of the terminals in the factory horn plug that is the switched ground to trip the relay, but it’s not difficult. It just takes a VERY basic understanding of how a relay works, some wire strippers, and a $5 set of crimp-on spade connectors from any auto parts store.
