Sometimes I just want to get in my car in the middle of the night and just drive, no destination in mind and paying no thought to the responsibilities of my life at home. Just to leave that all shit behind me and just go........

Kinja'd!!!

Driving at night is one of the few things that genuinely relax me, until I get home and just think “shit.”

Potatoe pic of my car at night. A cool feature is that you can adjust the intensity of the gauge cluster lighting.

Exactly the same here, just had my last day of having nothing to do, going for a last night time drive before I have to go to school and work tomorrow. My car can do that lighting thing too, but there’s always warning lights on my cluster that are always the highest brightness lol, it’s a little annoying.

I do this fairly often, just a short jaunt on some roads outside of the city on a fresh late-summer night is usually just what the doctor ordered.

The best things to do afterwards is either to have a good beer sitting outside staring at the sky, keeping the mind clear or to go right to bed, I always sleep well after a nice drive.

Nah, too many drunks at night. Also, too many automotive lighting related violations (high beams, bro HID’s, no lights, etc). To top it all off, traffic because of summer construction.

Street racers, wildlife crossing the road, cars blocking the street becuse of house parties, police everywhere, no money for fuel, shitty Audi seats destroying my back, etc.

Stay home and watch MXC episodes on YouTube

I’ve always wanted to take off down country, get on a ferry at Dover and off at Calais, find a cafe, have a full English breakfast and come back. For no other reason than to say I drove to France for an English breakfast and when people ask if I brought back any duty free cigarettes or alcohol, say “no, I just went for breakfast and came back”.

One day I’ll do it, one day.

Ive done it, best thing ever. Pretty sure I saw a friends sister boning in her car one night at a bus station parking lot when turning around on one of those drives

I used to do this all the time with my girlfriend in her car. We’d just say we were going for a drive and get lost and talk, then use our phones to get home. We haven’t done this in a while and I don’t know why. I honestly couldn’t do it alone in my car because the rattles and crackling speakers totally ruin the serenity and I hate that they do.

It’s my favorite time to drive. I just roll down my windows and listen to my tires howl through the trees. It’s super therapeutic. I too have adjustable gauge lights.

When I was younger it was the best thing ever. Now that I've hit an elk at 70mph at 2 am it's too nerve-wracking, but I definitely miss that feeling of freedom!

Mouth full of glass, but totally fine. The car wasn’t even too bad, I got his knee(ish) with the driver’s side headlight, his chin shattered my windshield in front of my face and he knocked off a mirror, no airbags went off or anything. But it scared the bejesus out of me. I refuse to drive rural highways at night without traffic in front of me now!

I love going for random dives, even after delivering pizzas all day long. But there are lots of deer around here and that concerns me.

My gauge cluster lighting is also adjustable. Has day and night modes and has a dial for assisting brightness in night mode. It’s nice.

I do the same thing, put some Rhye on, open the sunroof, and just drive aimlessly at night.

Yes, and no. Yes cuase there is really no one else out late at night (I love highways the most)...but no becuase deer are out and about late at night.. Also its the begining of mating season so they’re out in force as well.
