I knew that there were spy shots of the post-refresh Chrysler 300 SRT running around here in the States, but I wasn’t aware that it had been officially announced for other markets until I chanced across !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! . It seems that the 300 is also the only car that they sell there.
Also, while I knew that Lexus debuted their first turbo engine in the NX 200t, I didn’t know that they’d started using that 2.0T in other models - they have a 200t trim for the !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! now that’s RWD-only, while the IS 300 still has its V6 and is AWD-only. The 350 still offers a more powerful V6 with RWD or AWD. I’d get rid of the less-powerful V6 and make AWD optional on the 200t, but I guess their alphanumeric nomenclature makes the 300 necessary as a middle-grade trim.

Ewww, that 300 re-fresh. In this picture a formerly quite cool car looks just plain ugly.

Can’t have the 200T and AWD because there isn’t enough torque and the power delivery isn’t good enough.
The IS300 has the extra liter for a better power curve with the AWD.
I work for a Lexus dealer, we asked. That is roughly how it was explained.

So the power delivery is better since you don’t have to deal with going on/off boost - that makes sense. The 2.0T’s torque is higher, per Lexus, but I guess it didn’t make enough when paired with the AWD system. Thanks.

The front of the standard 300 looks a little weird from some angles IMO, but I think that the 300 SRT still looks good.

The new SRT front end is a little too “sporty”. The old body style was perfect. Mmm.
