OK so I am stuck at work waiting for the phone to ring and I have lots of time to browse Craigslist for bad ideas, I’m thinking British Engineering today

XJS with a straight body and a 4.0l for $1700? Bite their damn hand off. They’re great cars, and the 4.0 is a much more rounded package than the V12 (although it lacks the 12’s banzai noise with straightpipes).
I'd also take that Spitfire in a heartbeat. It's a hell of a lot less rusty than similarly priced cars over here. Entire floorpans are available as pattern parts as well, so that's not as big an undertaking as you'd think...
