The Never Ending Story (1 and 2) for the first time ever. I’m 33. I did not like either movie, but part 2 is especially terrible. And incredibly racist.

Princess Bride is immeasurably better in every way.

I haven’t revisited either title since before I reached double digits(also 3o).

I still consider both nightmare fuel so, thanks for making me think about a majestic white horse drowning in mud, acid lakes aaand posessed monoliths that will explode my head with lazerbeam eyes before I go to sleep.

I fucking own Time Bandits. Hell yes.

And Adventures of Baron Munchausen.

Both of which I did not watch until my late 20s and loved instantly. PB I saw in grade school and still adore it.

Love Never Ending Story 1, even if the effects are incredibly dated. Don’t remember part 2.

Watched Princess Bride for the first time a couple years ago and absolutely HATED it. One of the top 5 worst movies I’ve ever seen.

How is it worse than NES? The acting is fantastic. The dialogue is utterly wonderful, hilarious, and eminently quotable. Seriously, TPB is part of our pop culture lexicon. The plot is a far better hero quest than much of anything else from the late 80s, and TPB is also a perfect lesson in how to tell a fairy-tale.

I’m sorry that you have no soul. TPB is perfect, and that’s all there is too it.
